Christine Lenihan

Christine joined the Foundation’s Board of Trustees in June 2005 and took up the post of Chairman in February 2009. She is also Chairman of the Nominations & Remuneration Committee. She was a founder of Cabal Communications; a London based magazine publishing company started in 1998. Her entrepreneurial career led her from nursing to a number of senior positions in the pharmaceutical industry and subsequently to starting her own businesses; the first of which was in 1983.

Christine has served as a University Governor and held a number of non executive directorships, most recently as Chairman of the Scottish University for Industry, Chairman of NHS24 and Chairman of the Scottish NHS Confederation.

Christine, who is ‘a fraction over 40’ is married to ‘the most difficult man in the world’ and lives in ‘a really fun house’ in Edinburgh.
