Scottish Charities Receive Over £1.4 Million in Funding

Scottish charities are sharing over £1.4 million in the latest round of awards made by Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland. Just over half of this is going to five charities to work with children and young people affected by drug and alcohol misuse.

Mary Craig, the Foundation’s Deputy Chief Executive, said: “All 74 of the awards we’ve just made will be used to improve the lives of people across Scotland. Awards totalling over £631,000 will be used by 58 charities for everything from helping pay for a kitchen in a village hall to buying computer equipment for a group of Guides. We’re delighted to be able to support the great work of Scottish charities by helping them to continue to deliver their services.

“Across Scotland we’ve also made five awards totalling over £721,000 for work with young people on issues around drugs and alcohol and 11 awards totalling over £58,000 to support charities to develop their ability to deliver more effectively.”

Charities who would like more information about applying to the Foundation for an award should contact us on 0870 902 1201. The next deadlines for applications are 2nd May for the Partnership Drugs Initiative, and 19th May for the Standard Grant Scheme.
