Research we fund

We have funded research into quality of life in the ageing population, with the aim of making a long term difference to a wide range of people in Scotland and beyond.

In 2008 we made a research award to The Royal Society of Edinburgh, which was awarded £197,700 to continue to carry out and disseminate research into the ageing population, bringing the total amount awarded by the Foundation to The Royal Society of Edinburgh to £1,097,700.

To find out more about this research have a look on the Royal Society of Edinburgh website.

In 2005, New Philanthropy Capital was awarded £60,000 towards the cost of five social research projects covering autism, homelessness, out of school hours activities, violence against women and child abuse.
